what is buckwheat?
While many people think that buckwheat is a cereal grain and related to wheat, but despite its name it is not related to wheat nor its is a grain. Buckwheat is actually a fruit seed. Its correct though to classify buckwheat as a grain only from culinary perspective.
Our buckwheat groats come from one of the cleanest and ecologically intact regions of the planet - Altay Mountains of southern Siberia. The Altai Mountains (Altay Mountains) are a mountain range in East-Central Asia, where Russia, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan come together, and are where the rivers Irtysh and Ob have their headwaters. Our buckwheat grows in an ideal soil, climate and altitude and feeds off clean waters of river Ob - all this plus energy of gentle summer sun create pure and healthy plant with incredible combination of healthy protein, fiber, healthy fats (such as Omega-3), minerals and vitamins. As nature intended..
